With great anticipation I announce the upcoming show by Yula Finesmith of Finesmith Jewelry. Variation and Inspiring. In preparation of this blog I had the honor of being invited to watch one of the 2 rehearsals for the show. All I can say is WOW and I mean that in the biggest form and letters as possible.

Saying goodbye to this season of fashion is being done in a way that says goodbye to Summer and HELLO to Fall all in one amazing show. So, this morning I log in and see this great NC and Texture Add from CStar about a "Think Pink Hunt" so I decided I haven't done a hunt in awhile so why not. Well, I had EVERY intention of blogging about all the AWESOME things I found today, and they are AWESOME, but...While in one of the stores I found this CUTE top that matched one of my new skins. LOL SO I lost focus and decided to share this look with you.

Styling isn't always one of the easiest things for me, but something that I do on a constant basis is use my skin as an accessory. There are so many fabulous skin designers out there that deserve just as much attention as the clothing and accessory designers. Here I am showing the newest from Unico Solo of CStar Skins. There is something about the Glam *Snap* skins that Unico does that make me run screaming for her store every time she announces a new skin.

How could this "Apple" be a sin when it looks so damn good!? So having this new beautiful skin (Apple) from Unico, I have been trying to decide what would be the best way to photograph it. What do I have that I could wear with it...because this time, the skin wasn't an accessory but the main player. Well, like I said...I found it! Here I am wearing the super cute and shiney Lace Tank Dots Pink from Frank Windlow of Onyx Wear. Also, from Frank, I have on the Skinnys Lineage Dark Pants which, I have to say, are now my favorite pair of skinny pants. The fit perfectly and look amazing with any look from, Casual Chic to Glamor Fierce!

Having fallin in love with Non-Alpha lashes, I had to go get some new ones to wear with this look from monica Outlander of Miamai. Here you see style N18. Something about that lash going down the cheek screams to me...Circus clown? Its FABULOUS! I must admit though my hair shopping has been quite lame and as sad as it makes me feel, I am super excited to have found out about some of Truths new hair. Here I am wearing the Tilly Streaked in Java by Truth Hawks of Truth Hair. I have to say I LOVE THE STREAKS! When you buy the hair that comes with the streaks, you get with and without. So you get like DOUBLE the hair for your money. HELLOOOOOO! So its laggy right? WELL, TRUTH has all their demos on xstreet....buy the demos, try them on decide if you like them, go in with a shopping list honey and BUY BUY BUY! I personally bought 3 just today. *hides receipt from Brock and smiles pretty*

I am loving this look so much today that I don't give a rat patooty if this skin is to avant garde to walk around in or not. I am lovin it and I wanna wear it! Come on girls, lets have us one hell of a PINK PARTY!!!

Digging around in my inventory I found my Pixel Mode Hot Pink Baby-T's but had NOTHING to wear with them. So I decided to put something together working around my amazingly cute shoes. What did I do...I tp'ed over to BOOM and found some CUTE stuff! This is the cute little dress I found that matches my purdy little shoes. Is it Valentines because I am in LOVE and the answer is YES! Well, its not Valentines Day but I am in love with this dress and am so happy I got it. Talyia has wowed us again with her brilliance and perfection! Not only is she the best Photographer in SL, an amazing skin designer and creator, but now she does prim lashes???? With the new release of her prim lashes I write this blog in complete awe yet again over the sheer imagination of Talyia Tarber. The artistic way her mind spins and the beautiful art she creates when it finally comes to a rest.

New to the Garded Secret

You have two choices in lashes:

Style 1: 125L

Now, the tips of these lashes come in different colors:
Black, Blue, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, Turquoise, and Yellow.

Are those not AMAZING colors?

Style 2: 200L

Now, the tips of these lashes come in different colors:
Black, Blue, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, Turquoise, and Yellow.

The petal actually changes too! Just click on it and you get a new color. You also have the option to make the petal invisible...just like Style 1, meaning, you get BOTH styles! AGAIN, GENIUS!

Now, they are NON-ALPHA, prim lashes so there will be some adjusting. Just be sure to be on a good pose stand and CTRL+0 close to your eye with edit linked parts and you should be able to get them to fit perfectly. Remember, patience is a virtue when adjusting NON-Alpha, prim lashes so breath deeply and curse quietly. :)

Watch for pictures of ME wearing the lashes! (gotta adjust them to fit! hahaha)

I have to say that when I saw the texture for this I wasn't quite sure what it meant. Finding out that it came from Giselle Temple, I went in search. Finding her picks I saw she had put the description of what it is. I must admit, coming from Giselle who is the epitome of a beautiful soul, I was truly touched.

In the SL Fashion world it is so easy to lose sight of kindness and compassion and get into the competitiveness and ugliness of winning and being the best. I have slipped on that slippery slope a few times myself but clinging to a tree root trying to stay on the ledge of goodness. Giselle shows us what it means to be kind, to have a heart, to actually care about others and not worry about what other people consider to be truth when it is only gossip and hate.

I have had such a privilege in knowing Giselle even though it has just been in briefness. I can't wait to see who Giselle bestows the honor of this award too. Well I do, but now I am sharing! Garded Secret is NOW OPEN! The very lovely and talented Talyia Tarber has put away her camera at Kiss My Camera to focus on her new passion. Skin creation! Garded Secret will be the worst kept secret in SL once everyone sees what amazing quality and detail she has put into these skins. I must admit, that when I came back from my month long "Vacation" and she told me she had a surprise, I was mighty nervous! Though, I am a woman, I am not a big fan of surprises. So when she tp'ed me to her store in Fashion Palace, I was blown away. Not only has she created a new path for herself to explore but she has done so brilliantly.

One of the MANY things she has for us is with every purchase you will receive a token. Once you have gotten 5 tokens you get a free skin! 6 Skins for the price of five! WOOHOO!!!

She currently has one series going up as she makes them which are the "Charmed" series and I must say, they are VERY charming! Here is an up close look of the first one she has out, "Nude":

After a bit of talking with some of the customers she decided to get a second skin out in a flash. I have to tell you, when she tp'ed me in to see it...I nearly fainted. It is so gorgeous! Is it Haute or Avante?

So today I started on the task of getting my three looks ready for my evaluation at Arcobaleno. Took all day and I finally think I got this outfit down. Now, I asked one very amazing, talented, PERFECT, Anabella Ravinelli her opinion on what "style" the outfit would be classified. She informed me it was Avant Garde...I am SO confused! LOL I was going for Haute Couture and I got it ALL wrong. LOL Luckily I have to do an Avant Garde too so, one down two to go! I need to take a class on that I suppose. *looks around sheepishly* LMFAO

While searching for the perfect location to snap a few pics of the outfit, I like to document my outfits when I put them together, I stumbled upon a place...It was a Blur! Everything is WHITE and when I say white I mean seriously, I had to check my settings. LOL then I got smart and read the NC that you get as soon as you land. DUH! It explained what settings need to be what and so on and so forth and guess what...EVERYTHING IS STILL WHITE! LOL.

It is great though with some items to purchase scattered around. I will be doing another blog on some of the amazing things that I found there so look for that one soon! The place will go buh bye on August 16th so I will definitely get the blog done before then. :P I think you will like some of the stuff, now I couldn't logically go in and buy everything...Iam but a struggling artist trying to feed my SL clothing habit, so funds were low, but I did get a few things.

Moving on! This outfit is definitely something I had fun putting together. I mean the colors alone are just beautiful! Teals, blues, blacks...even some purple! I LOVED being able to snap some pics at the It was a Blur sim because it doesn't take away from the beautiful vibrant colors of the outfit. Some of the items I already had in my inventory and some I purchased to finish off the look. I hope you like it...and lord I hope Vikeejeah Xevion does too! LOL

Finesmith's New Releases

Artistic Picture: Marissa Bruun wearing Idioma

Finesmith has two new releases, as well as a great 55L Thursday gift. Three shiny things!!! *stares with twinkling eyes and mouth agape*

1A.

First we have the Idioma set. Now, this name means "language" in Spanish, and I feel that the jewelry really speaks for itself, in that it is a very bold statement piece, especially the necklace. It has a nice scalloped design on the earrings and the necklace, with nicely sized gems, and then it has the bangles, which on the backside also have the scallops and gems.

1B.

Now, the latest Finesmith pieces are equipped with a gemchange script. There are options like emerald, amethyst, ruby, aqua, onyx, and then the diamond. I love jewelry that does color change to some extent, whether it be with a menu script, a HUD, or even it being mod and diamond colored, and I can choose which color I want myself. When you have the option to change the gems, it gives the jewelry so much versatility. One negative though, the onyx option leaves the gem solid black.

1C.

Now, I didn't realize at first that there was a seperate metal changer. See, under the gem change under the menu, you have "gem" to change gems, or "object" to change metals. So I hit object, and obviously was changing it the colors of the gems (ruby, emerald, aqua, etc.). Now, you do have to admit, it is pretty cute! You can mix and match gems and metals. However, I went around and explored some more, and found that you can also change the metals silvers, golds, bronzes, etc. Then I explored some more, and found that you can also change the gems silvers, golds, bronzes, etc. This really is a versatile piece! Here you can see the only downside I found, which was the onyx on the right bracelet.

Final Review of Idioma: I found the design, with the scallops and gems very charming, and I liked it a lot, and I think it is very well made. I think the gem and metal change script makes this piece super versatile, and one that will really speak to you! Lastly, I found one flaw -- the onyx. Even with the onyx defect, this piece is sure to give use to anyone who buys it, giving it a 4.5 out of 5.

2A.

yula Finesmith's second new release is the Heart Attack set, cleverly named for its onset of hearts that join on the pieces. You have a chain design in the necklace, that has two round gems, that go down to a curve of metal, that makes a slight heart. Then they meet at the center with a metal heart, with a gem tip on that that sprouts another heart, which at the tip, meets the tip of three other hearts, creating a nice diamond-shaped pattern of gems, each with a metal heart sprouting. The last element of the design, are the gems that connect each heart on the sides. The earrings bear a similar pattern as the pendant of the necklace, and the bracelet could be the necklace torn apart and linked together around the wrist. A perfect design in my opinion!

2B.

Like Idioma, Heart Attack is equipped with a brilliant gem-change script. It has the same ruby, amethyst, aqua, etc. I made all of the gems in the picture a color to show where the gems are, versus where the metal is. So, with the brilliant gem-change this set is also ultra versatile.

2C.

Now, also like the Idioma, I didn't realize the Heart Attack had the same metal-change with golds, and bronzes, and silvers. So, I just used the gem-change to change the metals as well. Which, has a really unique look, and also adds even more versatility. Brilliant!

Final Review of Heart Attack: I fell in love with the unique design incorporating the hearts in all different angles, and joining them strategically to create something that isn't the norm. My favorite part of the set is the necklace, simply because I just adore the pendant and how bold it is. The gem and metal change scripts are just brilliant! Another similarity to the Idioma, is that Heart Attack also has the problem with the onyx. However, I still give this piece a 4.5 out of 5 for the excellent design, and the brilliant script that gives so much versatility.

3A.

55L Thursdays

This was a 55L Thursday item for Finesmith. It is two pairs of modern-style earrings, one in silver and one in gold. Although it doesn't feature the gem/metal-change scripts, it has the brilliant design by yula Finesmith. It features three hollow cubes, connected at the top, with strips dangling beneath. Like most Finesmith jewelry, it makes a statement. I'm not sure if it is still available to purchase, but you can join the group in-world called Fashion Alert! to get the latest 55L Thursday list.

Well, not only have I learned some new styling ideas, and has my own style developed more...BUT, I also have been taking super great pics lately! There will be a post on my photography laaaaater on, although for now, let's just enjoy some great style posts that will have better pictures!

Prelude - Great Swimsuit!

I am pleased to announce that this is my first sponsored blog post, and that I will be showing items from two of my sponsoring designers, Prelude and FineSmith.

Summer, would not be summer, without swimwear. It's a fact, if you can't hit the beach in a sexy bikini -- what is the point of going outside?

Prelude has a lot of stunning swimsuits that go great with FineSmith's Sexy Belly Ring -- as well as many other accessories. Get ready for this post, because it's SL swimwear, the Rissa Way!

A. Prelude Collection Beachwear 1

This comes with two options, a bikini and a one-piece. The one-piece has a really unique design, with the lowcut top, then coming thin to the ring, and expanding again. The texture looks really amazing, it has a pink animal print and the shadowing and details are really nice. It has gold straps and elastic, and just really looks hot! The FineSmith Sexy Belly Ring in gold2 and amethyst is a great match. The skin was an obvious choice -- pink lipstick. I chose the hair, because not only does it "keep the sweat off my forehead", but it shows off the earrings. The earrings are gold hoops with diamonds. I also paired a necklace with different layers, to compliment the different golds, silvers, and whites that are present in the bikini and earrings. I added the heels, because they had shiny sequins on them, and just looked really nice. Finally, the nails were pink, and had little rhinestones on them -- perfect way to finish the look.

B. Prelude Collection Beachwear 2

Again, this comes in two options, the bikini and one-piece. The one-piece on this one covers the center of the abdomen, but leaves the sides bare, which presents the curves perfectly. The texture on this one is a shiny gold sequin pattern, and it absolutely shimmers! I decided to keep the earrings and add another gold necklace, as this swimsuit had gold as well. The hair was chosen, because it shows the earrings, and ponytails are great for the summer. I added a dark makeup, so it wouldn't call from the bright and flashy gold. In the pattern, there are red sequins, and I decided to accentuate that with red nails, bangles, and shoes -- but gold would work too! Finally, I changed the belly jewel to ruby.

C. Prelude Collection Beachwear 3

A contrast of the second one, this is a shiny red with radiant gold circles. The one-piece has a unique design which doesn't cut the top low, but exposes the center of the stomach leaving a great space for a belly ring. The accessories from the second matched this one too, so no need to change there. However, I swapped makeups to a red lipstick.

D. Prelude Collection Beachwear 4

The final swimsuit from Prelude, has a great electric blue, with a silver swirl. The one-piece is the most unique and contrasting of the four. Brandishing the silver so brightly, in contrast to the blue with the light silver swirl, really made this one pop! The one-piece also has an interesting criss-cross pattern that exposes the abdomen and comes around the back. I decided to put on a hair with a tropical flower, bright blue to match the swimsuit. I added a silver jewelry set with sapphire gems, and a silver french manicure. The FineSmith Sexy Belly Ring easily menu-changed to a silver with sapphires. Last thing to fix, the skin -- red didn't work obviously, but a nice nude shade did, and did not take away from the swimsuit.

I adore the Stiletto Moody BARE Lauren heels. They go so nicely with any look. I came up with four different shades of them to go with the swimsuits featured. The first swimsuit required pink or gold shoes. Second, gold or red -- and last, needed blue, silver, or I did an albino, which went with the shocking silver.

Well, Hump Day is over...Thursday now, and with Wednesday ending, comes the end of another week of 69L Hump Day Happiness.

What is Hump Day Happiness (HDH) you ask? Well, like the popular Fifty Linden Fridays (FLF) and Sixty Linden Weekends (formerly 60L Sundays), it is a weekly event at which designers mark down one of their items to a certain price for a day. On Hump Days, or Wednesdays, designers in the HDH set out one or two items for 69L.

If you haven't heard of these weekly events, you don't know what you're missing! Now, this stuff is quality -- for instance, !lamb hair for 50L!

I compiled a look of some things that I purchased on Friday last week, and on Hump Day yesterday (minus the boots).

This great !MM! skin came in three different tones and 2 different make-ups, for 69L per skin. I just thought the dress was sexy and looked nice, and it was only 69L. I love Reel Expression's poses by Luth, and they had two poses in a pack for 69L -- I couldn't resist!

Pose Makers RULE!!!

Anabella Ravinelli fired up a spark in me! How often do you see posemakers credited on Flickr or on blogs? How about in a fashion show? Hardly ever! I am starting a pact -- we need to credit those hardworking posemakers! Read this post for more info and interesting things.

Okay, Ana's Pose Off show with Sophisticated Secrets Modeling Agency (SSMA) and Fashion Palace (FP) really said something to me. Posemakers are often left behind the scenes, or hidden under a bunch of clothes, skin, jewelry, and hair. How often at a fashion show, does the emcee say who made each pose the model uses? -- I don't think ever. Well...never until Ana made that happen with the Pose Off show at SSMA! Hat's off to Ana, for doing this. I know those posemakers you featured really appreciate it. She featured great ones too, BehaviorBody, KMADD, Morgane Batista, and much more.

I was reminded of my passion to credit posemakers when I got on my FabFash kick, ya know, the awesome SLTV show on TreetTV, Fabulous Fashion with Angie Mornington? Well, out of interest (and boredom) I was watching old episodes of Fabulous Fashion. Snag a link here. On one from about a month ago, back when the Pose Fair was going on...btw a great event, and you can learn more about how they showed the world animation makers! Anyways, Angie interviewed Dove Swanson of Long Awkward Pose, Katey Coppola of Glitterati, and Elle Kirshner of Pulling Strings. They talked about the Pose Fair 2010, and about how posemakers were really undercredited. It was a great episode, I strongly suggest you watch it here.

Lastly, Dove Swanson, of Long Awkward Pose aka [LAP] is giving away a FREE pose pack to bloggers who credit posemakers or who use [LAP] poses and credit them. Now, I'm not getting all up on my soapbox with this pact because I want free poses...nothing like that at all. I strongly believe that posemakers are undercredited and deserve being credited like models, photographers, hair makers, etc. are. Let them come out of the shadows and bask in the light! They deserve it! It is not easy work.

Photographers rock! It's a fact. Lots of models, like me, are not photoshop wizards. Photographers who ARE wizards help us sooooo much! I'd like to shine a little light on Valeria Endrizzi (okay and maybe brag a bit about this hot photo of me!), she is an excellent model and photographer in SL.

Well, I mean, her Flickr. I just want to lick-er her flickr all day! It is AMAZING! Lick-er her Flickr!

Well, Alatiel Fashions is a store I love (one of millions), and she runs a monthly photo contest. The winner gets a one-of-a-kind outfit by Alatiel, a 1000L store giftcard, and their face on this 10x10 prim in the store for a month. Seems fair for the cost of buying a GORGEOUS outfit.

I entered the contest. But wait... I need to do something before entering a photo contest. OH YEAH! I need a photo to enter with. Well, my snapshot and Picnik skills are NOT good enough. I need to convey elegance, style, romance, and rain all in one pic (the theme was rainy days and romance). Well, I had been lick-ering Valeria's flickr that day, and said HEY! Let me get her to do the pic. She only charges 200L btw, a bargain!

Well rain makes me kinda sad, in ALL those sappy romance flicks it ALWAYS rains when they break up. Coincidence? I think NOT! LOL. All kidding aside, rain is depressing. So why not write a bad romance? (bad Gaga pun, I know!) My idea was tears, running mascara! Oh why does that waterproof mascara not work!!! The bunnies were cruly tested on for nothing! ANYWAYS...

Crying, check. Romance, how about a rose(s)...check...RAIN, how about a window...check...gown, sexy black gown from Alatiel...check Okay you get the point. :) Now...for the PICTURE!!! DUN DUN DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUN!!!

Okay! Look at this picture. Is it not amazing? I mean it captures the rain and romance perfectly, Valeria conveyed exactly what I wanted. She truly is an amazing photographer, and she has even more amazing prices. I strongly suggest you check her out!

Spring is here, and Summer is approaching! Everyone is out looking for the hot new outfits and accessories for the Spring and Summer seasons. This is the LeeZu - BabyDoll Leaf - by LeeZu Baxter. It is only 50L! It is located in the Sale section at the LeeZu Mainstore. After entering the store, go to your left into the Bargains section. Go to the Skirts section. And then in a nook, you find the Sales. Go to the LeeZu Mainstore.

My Review: I love this top! The coloration rocks, the detail is awesome, and the flexi-babydoll top part finishes it off excellently. 4 out of 5.

You see a woman walk up, wearing gorgeous black stilettos.

You take a closer look, and notice the detail put into them...they must be expensive! Where did she get them?

A camera rotation (or an inspection) would show that they are N-Core...oh yes--probably at least 500L. You decide you might as well check, and go to N-Core.

Immediately upon entering the store, you see these shoes by the front counter. Wait? This can't be right!

They are FREE!
