I was given a male shirt by Noveen Benoir, from Totally Random, to blog about and instead of just slapping on the shirt and modeling it myself, I decided to introduce you to my handsome husband (SL and RL) Brockington. Here he is modeling the sexy black Skull shirt, Novey honey, PERFECTION. Not that the model isn't helping any. *grins*

With the lovely Novey sending me all these amazing outfits to blog I try them on and try and decide how best to photograph them, I stumble across this next gown.  Now, I am very honest when I say that I am not a gown person, truly, but there is something about these gowns of Novey's that are just gorgeous!

Talyia has wowed us again with her brilliance and perfection! Not only is she the best Photographer in SL, an amazing skin designer and creator, but now she does prim lashes???? With the new release of her prim lashes I write this blog in complete awe yet again over the sheer imagination of Talyia Tarber. The artistic way her mind spins and the beautiful art she creates when it finally comes to a rest.

New to the Garded Secret

You have two choices in lashes:

Style 1: 125L


Now, the tips of these lashes come in different colors:
Black, Blue, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, Turquoise,  and Yellow.

Are those not AMAZING colors?

Style 2: 200L


Now, the tips of these lashes come in different colors:
Black, Blue, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, Turquoise,  and Yellow.

The petal actually changes too!  Just click on it and you get a new color.  You also have the option to make the petal invisible...just like Style 1, meaning, you get BOTH styles!   AGAIN, GENIUS!

Now, they are NON-ALPHA, prim lashes so there will be some adjusting.  Just be sure to be on a good pose stand and CTRL+0 close to your eye with edit linked parts and you should be able to get them to fit perfectly.  Remember, patience is a virtue when adjusting NON-Alpha, prim lashes so breath deeply and curse quietly. :)

Watch for pictures of ME wearing the lashes! (gotta adjust them to fit! hahaha)

AV IN THE MIROR AWARD

I have to say that when I saw the texture for this I wasn't quite sure what it meant. Finding out that it came from Giselle Temple, I went in search. Finding her picks I saw she had put the description of what it is. I must admit, coming from Giselle who is the epitome of a beautiful soul, I was truly touched.

In the SL Fashion world it is so easy to lose sight of kindness and compassion and get into the competitiveness and ugliness of winning and being the best. I have slipped on that slippery slope a few times myself but clinging to a tree root trying to stay on the ledge of goodness. Giselle shows us what it means to be kind, to have a heart, to actually care about others and not worry about what other people consider to be truth when it is only gossip and hate.

I have had such a privilege in knowing Giselle even though it has just been in briefness. I can't wait to see who Giselle bestows the honor of this award too. Do You Have a Secret?

Well I do, but now I am sharing! Garded Secret is NOW OPEN! The very lovely and talented Talyia Tarber has put away her camera at Kiss My Camera to focus on her new passion. Skin creation! Garded Secret will be the worst kept secret in SL once everyone sees what amazing quality and detail she has put into these skins. I must admit, that when I came back from my month long "Vacation" and she told me she had a surprise, I was mighty nervous! Though, I am a woman, I am not a big fan of surprises. So when she tp'ed me to her store in Fashion Palace, I was blown away. Not only has she created a new path for herself to explore but she has done so brilliantly.

One of the MANY things she has for us is with every purchase you will receive a token. Once you have gotten 5 tokens you get a free skin! 6 Skins for the price of five! WOOHOO!!!

She currently has one series going up as she makes them which are the "Charmed" series and I must say, they are VERY charming! Here is an up close look of the first one she has out, "Nude":

I know that its not an everyday looking skin, but she is working on that but keeping it with her flashy and runway ready look.  After a bit of talking with some of the customers she decided to get a second skin out in a flash.  I have to tell you, when she tp'ed me in to see it...I nearly fainted.  It is so gorgeous!  Here is an up close look of "Dazzle me Pink":

So beautiful!  Now, her skins do come in 5 different skin tones.  The one shown here is "Fair".  She has Pale, Fair, Tan, Bronze, and Dark bronze.    She also has some GREAT little extras she adds with her skins.  You don't just get beautiful skin!  You get Eyebrow shapes, then you have brow color choices; light or dark, then the best of them all.  How many of us LOVE wearing prim nails but HATE matching that stupid glove to match our skin tone?  Well, Talyia has fixed that, she has created an optional skin that has NO nail on it.  So you are ready to attach those prim nails and go without a worry!  How brilliant is she!?

As Noveen Benoir and I chat about all the wonderful items in her store,  she passes me this beautiful gown.  How could I resist a chance to snap a few pics of me in this gorgeous design and show it to all of you!  The details she has put into this gown and guess what 200L!!!  Yes it is one of many of her beautiful designs on sale!  She is in the process of making this gown in other colors and I can't wait to see what she comes up with.  I must admit, I am not much of a gown girl, but you know what...I may be one soon enough if she keeps making these beautiful designs!

Is it Haute or Avante?

So today I started on the task of getting my three looks ready for my evaluation at Arcobaleno.  Took all day and I finally think I got this outfit down.  Now, I asked one very amazing, talented, PERFECT, Anabella Ravinelli her opinion on what "style" the outfit would be classified.  She informed me it was Avant Garde...I am SO confused! LOL I was going for Haute Couture and I got it ALL wrong. LOL Luckily I have to do an Avant Garde too so, one down two to go!  I need to take a class on that I suppose. *looks around sheepishly* LMFAO

While searching for the perfect location to snap a few pics of the outfit, I like to document my outfits when I put them together, I stumbled upon a place...It was a Blur!  Everything is WHITE and when I say white I mean seriously, I had to check my settings.  LOL  then I got smart and read the NC that you get as soon as you land.  DUH!  It explained what settings need to be what and so on and so forth and guess what...EVERYTHING IS STILL WHITE! LOL.

It is great though with some items to purchase scattered around.  I will be doing another blog on some of the amazing things that I found there so look for that one soon!  The place will go buh bye on August 16th so I will definitely get the blog done before then. :P  I think you will like some of the stuff, now I couldn't logically go in and buy everything...Iam but a struggling artist trying to feed my SL clothing habit, so funds were low, but I did get a few things.

Moving on!  This outfit is definitely something I had fun putting together.  I mean the colors alone are just beautiful!  Teals, blues, blacks...even some purple!  I LOVED being able to snap some pics at the It was a Blur sim because it doesn't take away from the beautiful vibrant colors of the outfit.  Some of the items I already had in my inventory and some I purchased to finish off the look.  I hope you like it...and lord I hope Vikeejeah Xevion does too! LOL

Finesmith's New Releases

Artistic Picture: Marissa Bruun wearing Idioma

Finesmith has two new releases, as well as a great 55L Thursday gift. Three shiny things!!! *stares with twinkling eyes and mouth agape*

1A.

First we have the Idioma set. Now, this name means "language" in Spanish, and I feel that the jewelry really speaks for itself, in that it is a very bold statement piece, especially the necklace. It has a nice scalloped design on the earrings and the necklace, with nicely sized gems, and then it has the bangles, which on the backside also have the scallops and gems.

Now, the latest Finesmith pieces are equipped with a gemchange script. There are options like emerald, amethyst, ruby, aqua, onyx, and then the diamond. I love jewelry that does color change to some extent, whether it be with a menu script, a HUD, or even it being mod and diamond colored, and I can choose which color I want myself. When you have the option to change the gems, it gives the jewelry so much versatility. One negative though, the onyx option leaves the gem solid black.

Now, I didn't realize at first that there was a seperate metal changer. See, under the gem change under the menu, you have "gem" to change gems, or "object" to change metals. So I hit object, and obviously was changing it the colors of the gems (ruby, emerald, aqua, etc.). Now, you do have to admit, it is pretty cute! You can mix and match gems and metals. However, I went around and explored some more, and found that you can also change the metals silvers, golds, bronzes, etc. Then I explored some more, and found that you can also change the gems silvers, golds, bronzes, etc. This really is a versatile piece! Here you can see the only downside I found, which was the onyx on the right bracelet.

Final Review of Idioma: I found the design, with the scallops and gems very charming, and I liked it a lot, and I think it is very well made. I think the gem and metal change script makes this piece super versatile, and one that will really speak to you! Lastly, I found one flaw -- the onyx. Even with the onyx defect, this piece is sure to give use to anyone who buys it, giving it a 4.5 out of 5.

2A.

yula Finesmith's second new release is the Heart Attack set, cleverly named for its onset of hearts that join on the pieces. You have a chain design in the necklace, that has two round gems, that go down to a curve of metal, that makes a slight heart. Then they meet at the center with a metal heart, with a gem tip on that that sprouts another heart, which at the tip, meets the tip of three other hearts, creating a nice diamond-shaped pattern of gems, each with a metal heart sprouting. The last element of the design, are the gems that connect each heart on the sides. The earrings bear a similar pattern as the pendant of the necklace, and the bracelet could be the necklace torn apart and linked together around the wrist. A perfect design in my opinion!

2B.

Like Idioma, Heart Attack is equipped with a brilliant gem-change script. It has the same ruby, amethyst, aqua, etc. I made all of the gems in the picture a color to show where the gems are, versus where the metal is. So, with the brilliant gem-change this set is also ultra versatile.

2C.

Now, also like the Idioma, I didn't realize the Heart Attack had the same metal-change with golds, and bronzes, and silvers. So, I just used the gem-change to change the metals as well. Which, has a really unique look, and also adds even more versatility. Brilliant!

Final Review of Heart Attack: I fell in love with the unique design incorporating the hearts in all different angles, and joining them strategically to create something that isn't the norm. My favorite part of the set is the necklace, simply because I just adore the pendant and how bold it is. The gem and metal change scripts are just brilliant! Another similarity to the Idioma, is that Heart Attack also has the problem with the onyx. However, I still give this piece a 4.5 out of 5 for the excellent design, and the brilliant script that gives so much versatility.

3A.

55L Thursdays

This was a 55L Thursday item for Finesmith. It is two pairs of modern-style earrings, one in silver and one in gold. Although it doesn't feature the gem/metal-change scripts, it has the brilliant design by yula Finesmith. It features three hollow cubes, connected at the top, with strips dangling beneath. Like most Finesmith jewelry, it makes a statement. I'm not sure if it is still available to purchase, but you can join the group in-world called Fashion Alert! to get the latest 55L Thursday list.
